November 7, 2013 – NITEC provides training on enhanced COZSim at UREP
NITEC provided a full-day training session on the enhanced version of COZSim at the semi-annual UREP Advisory Board Meeting held at the Colorado School of Mines. COZSim is being enhanced to model N-porosity reservoir systems. UREP is the Unconventional Reservoir Engineering Project Consortium.

July 9, 2013 – NITEC participates in the Wyoming Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute's Tensleep III-ROZ EOR in the Bighorn Basin Tensleep Workshop, Casper, WY  
NITEC presented how COZView/COZSim could be used to develop a full field model of a large field for investigation of CO2-EOR. The Frannie Field in NW Wyoming was used as the example. The presentation is available on EORI's website.

May 3, 2013 – NITEC Reports to Unconventional Reservoir Engineering Project (UREP) Consortium  
NITEC attended the Mid-Year UREP meeting at the Colorado School of Mines to report on research and software development status. This included:

  • Bubble Point Suppression in Unconventional Liquids Rich Reservoirs and Its Impact on Oil Production – T. Firincioglu
  • Handling Bubble Point Suppression in Reservoir Simulation – C. Ozgen

April 11, 2013 – NITEC Unconventional Modeling Seminar  
NITEC hosted five companies and 15 attendees at a seminar on Modeling of Unconventional Wells/Reservoirs in its Denver office. NITEC presented some of its recent technology developments and application results. A good exchange of ideas was shared by all.

February 28, 2013 – NITEC releases COZView/COZSim  
NITEC begins distribution of the CO2-EOR software developed under funding from the DOE/NETL. The free software, user manual and tutorials are available for download from the NITEC website.

October 1, 2009 – David Shaw joins NITEC
David Shaw has joined the management team as Manager of Operations in our Houston office. David has over 25 years of technical and managerial experience in the application of advanced technology and IT concepts to the energy industry worldwide.  He has held a wide variety of research, development, consulting, and management positions in the oil and gas industry.  He has recently held positions with Knowledge Reservoir and Catalyst in consulting; and Metso Energy Automation as Manager for Europe and Middle East.  NITEC has a growing business in Houston, and we are committed to developing our presence there. David will be central to our strategic plans to build and expand our services in the area.

November 17, 2008 – Orkhan Pashayev joins Nitec 
Orkhan Pashayev joins NITEC as a Reservoir Engineer. Orkhan has over 5 years of industry experience in reservoir modeling, reservoir management and field development. Prior to joining NITEC, he was employed by BP and Halliburton in Baku, Anchorage and Sunbury.

May 14, 2007 — Arjun Bathija joins NITEC
Arjun Bathija joins NITEC as Reservoir Engineer. Arjun has over 8 years of industry experience in reservoir modeling and software development. He has an extensive background in geostatistics and the associated modeling of reservoir properties affecting fluid flow. Previously, he was employed by Veritas DGC and RC Squared.

November 1, 2006 — LYNX (x64) Released
NITEC is pleased to announce the availability of LYNX on the Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. As well as the 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2003 editions including Compute Cluster Server 2003. This version removes the 2GB memory limit encountered by users with extremely large reservoir simulation studies when running the 32-bit version of LYNX.

September 1, 2006 — Mark Munoz joins NITEC
Mark Munoz joins NITEC as Reservoir Engineering Manager. Mark has over 27 years of reservoir engineering, reservoir simulation consulting experience. He has managed and conducted reservoir studies throughout the world. Most recently he was Senior Reservoir Engineering Advisor for Occidental of Elk Hills.

June 1, 2006 — Philip Winterfeld joins NITEC
Philip Winterfeld joins NITEC as Reservoir Engineer. Philip has over 25 years of industry experience in reservoir simulation development and applications. He has been involved in the development of numerous numerical simulation techniques. He spent over 18 years with Marathon Oil at their Littleton research facility.

April 16, 2005 — NITEC LLC HAS MOVED

January 24, 2005 — NITEC LLC (Denver, CO) acquires SSI group from Baker Hughes
NITEC LLC ( 475 17th Street , Denver , CO ) announces the acquisition of the former Scientific Software-Intercomp consulting services group from the Baker Atlas division of Baker Hughes Incorporated (Houston , TX). In addition to assets and personnel, a number of active contracts for services in the Arab Gulf region were acquired. Bill Savage, NITEC Director, stated “this acquisition of a highly technical group of people and significant future work commitments is a major step in expanding NITEC’s international services.”
